ISSF MATCHES
Shot at 25 meters in timed series with .22 Pistol
25m Standard Pistol is one of the ISSF shooting events.
60 competition shots, fired as three stages of 20 shots.
The 60-shot match is divided into 5-shot series with different timings:
Other than the calibre used, the Centre Fire event is exactly the same as the 25m Pistol Women, and Men's Sport Pistol events.
The 25m Centre Fire match is shot with a handgun of any calibre between 7.62 mm (.30”) and 9.65 mm (.38”).
Similar to Standard Pistol but is 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots, each series is 5 minutes .
25m Pistol combines both precision and rapid-fire, in two stages each of 30 shots with a .22 Pistol. After all competitors have completed the Precision Stage, they then fire the Rapid Fire Stage.
10m Air pistol are ISSF events shot by both men and women, at all levels of competition up to and including the Olympics and Paralympics.
60 shots for Men, Women & Junior Men in 90 min (75 min on electronic targets).
Shot with .177”, 4.5 mm air pistol – compressed air or gas
In this event the pistol may only be loaded with one round of ammunition at a time and must be operated with only one hand, which cannot be supported in any way.
60 competition shots in six series of 10 shots each with 15 mins for each series (90 min on electronic targets)
In 25m Rapid Fire Pistol competitors use semi-automatic pistols in .22 caliber. A series consists of five (5) shots fired, one at each of five target within a limited time.
Five targets stand next to each other at a 25m distance from the shooter.
There are three different time limits: 8 seconds, 6 seconds and 4 seconds for the series. A stage consists of two series in each time, and a full course of fire comprises two such stages.
Pistol Australia Matches
The Service Pistol event for 9mm and ·38/·357 pistols. Consists of 90 shots fired at distances varying from 50 to 7 yards with the pistol holstered at the commencement of each series.
Distances : 50yds, 25yds, 10 yds,7yds.
The 25m Black Powder event combines both precision and rapid-fire, in two stages each of 20 shots. 40 shots in four series of 10 shots, each series is 30 minutes.
Maximum ·46 calibre, cap and ball revolver
The WA1500 Match events all start from the holster. A current Pistol Australia holster accreditation is mandatory for all shooters participating in these events.
The WA1500 Match events are very similar to our PA Service Pistol events but is a 150 shot event.
Distances : 50yds, 25yds, 10 yds,7yds.
Other Matches
The front rest can be a tripod with cradle to hold the rifle, although the rifle must not be clamped in place. You must be able to easily lift it clear of the rest.
The rear bag must be a traditional sand bag only, no mechanical adjustment, only hand pressure is allowed on the side of the bag. In this event, telescopic sights (scopes)are used.
Caliber is ·22 only. 60 shots @ 50 meters
Down The Line Shooting, or "Trap Shooting" takes on several forms, but no matter the variation, they are all shot over a standard measured layout.
The clay's are thrown with an electric clay thrower.
Clay's (and hence lead shot) to stay within the range and not to pass above the backstop.
Otherwise know as Cowboy action.The single action is loosely based on the SSAA version of the match. Generally the shooters shoot the handgun (revolver) and rifle sections to constitute the match at club level. The SSAA match also includes a shotgun stage.
25 (Rifle) , 15, 10, 7 Yards. The range officer controls the distance.
Firearms used are ·32 to ·45 single action revolvers (hammer must be cocked before each shot).
Black powder single action revolvers are also able to shoot this match.
All matches are controlled by a Range Officer on the day.
